Emmy-Award winning filmmaker Sheila Curran Bernard

Sheila Curran Bernard, author of Documentary Storytelling a best-selling guide to story and structure in non-fiction filmmaking, will be a featured speaker at the WEVA 18th Annual Wedding & Event Video Expo. Bernard has played a leading role in creating projects for national and international broadcast and theatrical release, with credits including Eyes on the Prize, I'll Make Me a World, and Wired to Win: Surviving the Tour de France. She has taught at Princeton University, Westbrook College and this fall will join the faculty of the University at Albany.

On the Cutting-Edge: RED Digital Cinema

RED Digital Cinema Camera Company, the red-hot force behind "ultra HD camera technology offering the quality of 35mm film and convenience of pure digital" is coming to WEVA EXPO 2008. Attendees waited in huge lines at the NAB trade show in April just to grab a look at mock-ups for the upcoming Scarlet, the palm-size 3K-resolution camera list-priced under $3,000.

Scarlet will be ready to transform professional wedding and event videography with its ultra hi-res technology for a fraction of the cost of RED ONE, the 4K camera that RED Digital Cinema began shipping last year, said Ted Schilowitz, RED's Leader of the Rebellion. WEVA once again brings in International Speakers to give members a "world-wide" view of the wedding and event industry. WEVA Latino programming will include Jorge Jaramillo from Mexico who will demonstrate the importance of good audio. Melbourne legend, Phivo Christodoulou will demonstrate his cutting-edge techniques from Australia. Dominic Vlasco of the Philippines will show you how to create Spectacular 2D & 3D Photo Montages (Pre-Convention Paid Workshop) and finally, Danny Sayson from Vancouver, CA returns to teach an all-new Camera Techniques session that will raise your creativity to new heights.

All new HD Workflow sessions for both Mac & PC

WEVA Golf Classic - Monday, August 11, 2008 Shotgun Start 7:15am

The WEVA Golf Classic returns this year hosted by The Ritz-Carlton Golf Club at Grande Lakes Orlando. The on-property Greg Norman designed course offers a challenge to golfers of all skills. Players will enjoy a worry-free morning enhanced by the services of The Ritz-Carlton Caddie Concierge who accompanies each group to offer tips for playing the course, locate golf balls, give accurate yardages, repair ball marks, clean clubs and rake bunkers. Of course if you are always in the fairway and on the green, then your caddie will have an easier time.
